Myron E. Neibert
Myron E. Neibert, 86, of Ashland, passed away Thursday morning February 1, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a short illness.

Myron was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio on February 24, 1931 and was the son of Samuel Z. and Amelia Ruth (Devore) Neibert.

In 1951 Myron enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed as a machinist for the F.E. Myers Company for over 30 years retiring in 1994. Following his retirement from Myers he worked for the Philway Products and later for Atlas Bolt and Screw Company in Ashland.

He was a member of the Ashland Christian Church and the Midvale, Ohio VFW Post.

Myron enjoyed playing music and would play his guitar, banjo and harmonica at local nursing homes in the area with four other Ashland area men known as the Black Fork Valley Boys. He also enjoyed woodworking, and had made his own banjo, tinkering with tools and doing home improvement projects for himself and for family members.

On November 5, 1971 Myron was married to Phyllis Jean Shuman and the couple enjoyed 46 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Ashland, two sons, Myron E. Neibert Jr. of Florida and Garrison (Karen) Neibert of Indiana; 5 grandchildren; 4 step children, Joyce Johnson of Loudonville; Diana Maxwell of Creston, OH; Ed (Violet) Kaufman of Shelby and Carolyn (Brian) Hoagland of Killbuck, OH; Several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-son, Charles Kaufman in May of 2017 and a granddaughter, Valerie Boyd in 2016, and his five brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Scot Myers officiating. Entombment will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park Mausoleum where the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Ashland Christian Church 1480 Orange Rd. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
