Obituary for Randy W. Lindberg

Randy W. Lindberg
Randy W. Lindberg, 65, of Nankin, passed away Monday evening, March 26, 2018 at his residence following a courageous battle with Kidney Cancer.

Randy was born June 15, 1952 in Yuba City, California, the son of the late Carl and Ethel (Rorie) Lindberg. Following his graduation from high school he joined the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War.

He had worked at various jobs over the years but retired from F.E. Myers (Pentair) after 29 years of service to the company.

Randy was a Christian. He was a member of the New Life Community Church where he was involved in Primetimers, Life Groups and Interconnected Ministry. Always friendly, he enjoyed art, writing songs and poems, traveling, space and collecting.

On November 20, 1976, Randy was married to Sandra K. Welstead who survives him. He is also survived by one son, Mark (Zella) Lindberg of Akron; his two grandchildren, Isaac and Ziva Lindberg who he loved dearly; a step-sister, Jeanne (David) Smolarek of Arizona; a niece, Tamie (Rick) Thurman; two nephews, Ken (Lena) Lindberg and Sam Smolarek and many dear friends who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-mother, Joyce (Taylor) Lindberg and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Lindberg & Reuben & Pam Lindberg.

Randy’s wishes were to be cremated. A Private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Randy’s memory, may be made to the New Life Community Church, 1489 St. Rt. 511 S. Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr. Ashland, Ohio 44805.

Randy's family would like to thank all of their friends and family and also Lydna at Hospice, for their support and care of Randy during his illness.
