John L. Beugly, 86, of Ashland, passed away Friday morning, March 30, 2018 at University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
Mr. Beugly was born August 2, 1931 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Ira and Lois May (Burbaker) Beugly. He had resided in Wayne and Ashland counties his entire lifetime.
He was a welder by trade working at F.E. Myers, Gorman Rupp and 15 years at Hydromatic Pump companies. He also operated his 80 acre farm while working full time as a welder.
John was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Polk United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed traveling and working on his farm, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On June 5, 1955 John married Lois F. Hulme who survives him. He is also survived his three children, Pam (Kenneth) Rogers of Greenwich; Jeff (Vicky) Beugly of Ashland and Doug (Shelly) Beugly of West Salem; 3 grandchildren, Jay (Amanda) Beugly, Jon (Kelly) Beugly and Brennan (Renee) Beugly; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex, Max, Andrea, Mila, Lee & Xavier and two sisters, Virginia Beer of Mansfield and Eva Wiles of Sterling, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, David Beugly.
Memorial services will be held this Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Polk United Methodist Church with Pastor Jake Heskett and Rev. Cheryl Roshon officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m at the church. Burial, with military honors, will be at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Polk United Methodist Church, 424 N. Main St. Polk, Ohio 44866.
